Swimming...

It has actually been warm enough to swim a few times this week... Leah got to swim with Maggie Metzler in our backyard "above ground pool"... I forgot to take pictures of that and she got to skinny dip at Schoodic at Uncle Matt's camp! Here is one picture of her swimming with her big cousins...

BSP

We made a quick trip to Baxter last night to hear Don Fendler speak at the library at our favorite place, Kidney Pond. So, Leah had her first BSP experience! We thought we would hate going up and not being able to spend the night, but the black flies were ATROCIOUS so we were glad to come home. It reinforced to us why we go in May and September, or at least to me, Andrew goes in May and September so he can catch trout! Here are a few pictures, Leah may or may not have been allowed to sit in the front seat of the truck and out of her car seat once we were on the Tote road. It was wonderful being there even if for a short time. We got to see a Moose on the way out, but Leah had already fallen asleep so she missed it!

Leah is doing great... she seems to be eating and sleeping more than ever, so we hope it means she is growing! Thank god for pedisure, but she also is obsessed with peas, raw bell peppers, blueberries and waffles and depending on the day many other things. She adjusted very easy to wearing her brace to sleep in and we think it is already working as she can seem to wear shoes other than her high top converse now without walking on the side of her foot much at all. She has another follow up with the orthopedic specialist in mid August and at her regular doctor's office for a weight check.

Dog Days of Summer

Leah loves tormenting dogs of all ages and sizes... this is her teasing the puppy Morgan and this is just a sample of what she does to Bella. "My what big teeth you have"! Many of you know Bella and know she is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she has sure been tolerant and patient with Leah!

Climbing

Leah is rather dramatic about climbing up her slide and she wants to make sure all eyes are on her each "step" of the way.... she loves being the center of attention and luckily for her she is for us!

Fun in the Sun!

We finally had a gorgeous summer day and went to Cold Stream to Great Aunt Brenda's house and got to have a boat ride in Papa's big boat.... she loved it!

Odds and Ends...

A few pictures from the past week....
Ty and Courtney got a new puppy... Morgan as in "Captain"... neither Leah or Bella knew what to make of her!
Leah has taken to sitting in her new Cabela's camp chair from Uncle Matt and Aunt Emily to watch "Word World" on PBS... doctor's orders- watch TV to learn English!
We went mini golfing with the Harveys and Michelle and Megan and we finally had a warm enough day to try out our "above ground" pool! How cute is her little bottom???
Also, I don't think we updated that last week at her doctor's app't she had gained 10 oz. so she is over the 16lb mark! We also think she is a bit taller or Mom has been shrinking pants in the laundry- either is likely!

Hannah Burke

Leah got to go to the beach again and this time to Cape Elizabeth to meet our friends Mark, Andrea and Hannah Burke who are here from Philadelphia, but are soon moving to Switzerland. We had a lovely time and Leah stayed up a bit too late, but it was finally a gorgeous summer night and we could not tear ourselves away! We can nap today to catch up!

Group Photo

Group shot of all of the Harmon gang before the "western" Harmons headed back to Arizona... the weather was finally SO nice!!! Leah is going to miss playing with Braden.

Cousin Braden

Leah has had a great time hanging out with her cousin Braden who is visiting Maine for over a week. Here are a few pictures of them together... we went to Acadia National Park yesterday- all 55 degrees of it or about 1/2 the temperature Braden is used to in Scottsdale and 1/2 the temperature Leah was used to in India!

Dad's Birthday

As most of you know Andrew has an identical twin, Anthony, who lives in Arizona. He, his wife Angie and their son Braden are visiting Maine now for the 4th of July and for their birthday which was yesterday. Leah is enjoying meeting her younger, but bigger, cousin Braden and the amusing thing to all of us is the confusion she has with wondering who her Dad is! I think she thinks she now has 2 Dads! Here is a picture of "the twins" taking both of the kids on their first ever boat ride in Schoodic in Papa Ernie's old boat. As you can see neither of them are impressed with their life jackets!

Independence Day

Leah enjoyed her first 4th of July and first Burlington parade. The highlight this year was the Harveys and Gilmans smart idea to tailgate and cook breakfast sandwiches while we waited for the parade! Delicious idea! Here are pics thanks to my cousin Renee, as I have not downloaded any yet.

Outdoor climbing

Leah really likes this climbing thing.... we are just so proud and amazed of her... when we first accepted her referral and knew she had a condition, we assumed she would not even be walking when we picked her up and now at 20 months old (Today!) she can climb and pretty much do anything! You can also see she is pretty proud of herself!

Mom's Birthday

Monday was my birthday and Andrew got me a "musical" card.... Leah entertained herself during breakfast by playing and dancing to the card... My mom and nieces came down with a decorated cake and Ty and Courtney made me dinner... and of course having Leah after all these years made it the best birthday ever! We tried to get a family photo, but as you can see it did not work out! Also, Courtney made strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream and as you can see Leah liked it! However, that may or may not have played a role in her being "topless" later!
