Skiing

Yesterday we took advantage of the foot of new snow and "warm" weather and went to Sugarloaf... we had a great time and almost bought a season ticket, but as Andrew reminded me we hope that we are in India during some of ski season and home with Leah, not on the slopes for the end of the season... it was a neat reminder that the end should be in site.

With next ski season in mind we did check out the onsite daycare at Sugarloaf though and it looked like all the little kids there were having a blast!

We also got a new app't for fingerprinting as we have been at this adoption business for so long our fingerprints are set to expire in March! Luckily immigration does a one time renewal for free as I think it was $800 the first time around!

Also, another family from Hampden got travel approval so they will be leaving on Valentine's Day to go to India to pick up their 2 year old daughter. I can not think of a better way to spend Valentine's Day!

Still no word on the scrutiny comm. but hopefully in another week we should know something...

Eben

Our close friends Jen and Joel Harvey and their son Eben who is 4.5 are excited for Leah's arrival and they have been SO generous. Soon after we received Leah's referral they came down with Eben's crib, mattress and a box of puzzles and books so big it took Joel and Andrew to carry it in! That night Eben assisted Joel and Andrew in setting the crib all up and it was so sweet. Well today they came to visit and Eben brought us his high chair! It is SO nice, it is a wooden high chair that Joel's grandfather Jack finished and it means much more to us then the ones we had seen at Target! To top it off they bought a new chair cover for it that was more "girlish" and brought that as well. Eben has always loved Bella and it seems he already loves Leah!

They are so sweet to us and we have promised Eben that Leah will be home for his 5th birthday party. Eben even tracked Santa on Christmas eve on his globe to see when Santa was in Mumbai visiting Leah.

Here is a picture of Eben showing us how the high chair works!

The Jaggers

The highlight of Andrew and I's long vacation together had to be on Tuesday when we got to go meet the Jagger boys. Sam, Charlie and Owen were adopted from India in August. I "found" them through their parents blog, as I love finding blogs about others who are in the process of adopting from India. So I stumbled upon the Jagger blog this summer before they left for India and realized that they lived in Winterport - the next town over!!! So, Melissa and I have been in email contact but we had not yet met until this week.

Andrew is totally in love with these boys as Sam and Charlie are identical twin brothers (they are 4) and they have a little brother Owen who is 2. So, Andrew is pretty used to this sibling set up! They were so friendly and so loving and we can't wait to hang out with them again. I think Andrew is already deciding which one will make a great prom date for Leah!

You can link to their blog from the left hand side of our blog if you want to read about the Jaggers!

In other India related vacation happenings we went to see Slumdog Millionaire on Sunday. Excellent movie! This movie was set in Mumbai so was neat for us to see the film footage but even if you have no India interest we recommend it!

Also today Leah is 14 months old.
