Busy Weekend

Looking out over the Penobscot with the Shapiro triplets and "Nana" Rozanne at the Folk Festival
Checking out a tent at Cabela's... we went down to visit Grammie Carla and Uncle Matt and to buy Bella a "pet containment system", a nice name for "shock fence"!

Letting Brent Greenlaw try out my stroller at the Folk Festival!

Oh, not from this weekend but my big cousins Michelle and Megan both started Junior High this week! Mom can't believe they are both old enough to go to MJHS the same Junior High she went too!
I think I need a camo recliner for Papa's camp, Uncle Matt's camp or Camp Keezar!
Watching Colin and Sophie dance at the Folk Festival! We all love the Cajun music!
Checking out more dead animals at Cabela's with Uncle Matt...
"Watching" the traditional Indian dance at the Folk Festival with my pal Maggie
Brent giving me a hug at the Folk Festival
Traditional Indian dancers right here in Bangor!
The COOLEST car ever! A Prius painted with Ganesh and a Ganesh license plate- also seen at the folk festival!
We had a busy but wonderful weekend. Friday afternoon big cousin Anna came over to help watch Leah while Mom and Dad did some projects. Anna is starting high school TOMORROW! Friday night we went to the Folk Festival, which is one of the best weekends of the year. Great music, great food and everyone you know is there. 175,000 people attend yet it seems that we know everyone there! Saturday was a washout with the rain so we took a long drive and went to Portland to visit Grammie and Uncle Matt. We went to Cabela's and bought Bella a new "fence" and went out to eat and of course stopped in Freeport for a bit. Sunday Grammie and Papa came down and we all went to the Folk Festival. Again Leah got to meet/see tons of people which was great fun.
This was the first week that Mom started to feel like a true stay at home Mom as in the spring it was as if I was on maternity leave and in the summer it was like any summer with summer vacation. But, last week all my teacher friends went back to work and it felt pretty weird that morning not heading to work. However, after a couple of hours I was feeling so thankful that I am not working and just can not imagine leaving Leah just yet. I crave any moment I can to baby her and rock her for her naps and cuddler her as we did miss out on 18 months of babying her so it is great to be with her now as much as I can. We also became members of the Maine Discovery Museum so we can have some outings there when weather is not ideal.
We head to San Fran/Napa Valley on Friday... we are a bit nervous to travel with Leah again but figure a 6 hour direct flight from Boston will be a good way to attempt travel with her again vs. the 15.5 hour flight a mere 3 months ago!
Leah is still doing great adjusting and still sleeps great- she is still not a great eater and we wish she would eat more but that is truly our only concern, so I guess we should consider ourselves lucky. She is using more words in English and in sign language and seems to understand everything we say, although sometimes she does not choose to listen!
Okay, enough of an update for now!

The Jagger Boys

The handsome Jagger boys came to visit Leah this afternoon- and brought McDonald's!
Playing on the screen porch...

The boys were kind enough to get out of the "big" pool and play in Leah's baby pool for a bit!

A "hodgepodge" of pictures...

Hanging at camp with Whitney....
What happens when Dad comes home early from work!

Some things never change, I recall a similar photo in Mumbai!

Our Friday night picnic...

Gifford's blueberry icecream!

With Michelle at her horse show...

In the barn with Megan....

Out for a "hike"
Leah is doing great... she is starting to try to say more words and is using a tiny bit of sign language that she learned from DVD's our neighbor let her borrow- now we need to learn it! She had a doctor's app't this week and she gained 4oz and grew 1/2 inch. We had hoped for more weight, but the doctor was happy with that progress. She does great wearing her brace at night for her foot, and we think her foot is already better- but we will wait to see what her Doctor says this week. Leah got to meet Great Aunt Cynthia and Great Uncle Dick who were here from Florida celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! Oh and Leah got a "new" kitchen set and a "new" outdooor playhouse from yard sales this week!

Leah's new bib

Leah got a new bib at Ben and Jerry's! The tie dye reminded us of my Uncle Stan.... he would have loved it! So, she is now our little hippy child... Vermont must have already rubbed off on her!!!

Playing in the field with Mom

The 3 guys from "Andro" Hall...

Hanging out with Alyssa...

Leah playing with a new friend she met!

The Wedding...

Brooks and Brenna had a beautiful wedding, the location was by far the most gorgeous wedding location we have ever seen in a field at her parents house. Leah got to meet not only Brooks and Brenna but Rick and Alyssa, Andrew's friends from college. It was a wonderful time.

Ben and Jerry's...

What's a trip to Vermont without going to the Ben and Jerry's factory....

Vermont

Lake Champlain...

Daddy got to go to Johnson woolen mill and get a hunting jacket from where it is made Johnson, VT and got Mom wool mittens!

We visited the Cabot cheese factory! Yum!

Sebago

Michelle and Megan are looking at the camera, not sure what Grammie and Leah are checking out!!!

Leah has been on a bit of a road trip.... we went to Sebago State Park for a couple of days to visit Grammie, Papa, Michelle, Megan and Aunt Brenda who were all camping there. Daddy worked down that way so we stayed in a hotel with him near the campground. Then we headed to Vermont for Brooks and Brenna's wedding and a bit of touristy things. Overall, Leah did great sleeping away from home for the first time. Here are a few pics...

Maggie's Lunch looks better than mine!

Leah quite liked the look of Maggie's melon and goldfish when she came to play.... yes they both have terry cloth "cover-ups" on, you can never be too modest!
